Overview

A payment ring needs far more than a chip. For VezoPay’s wearable I led full-stack development of the web dashboard, designed and built the Android app that integrates the ring’s NFC and tokenization SDK, and architected the backend and AWS infrastructure underneath.

The problem

Paying with a ring means your card is linked to something you can lose. Every ring has to be paired, activated and managed, lost or stolen rings have to be handled, and card details must stay off the device.

The approach

Card details are tokenized through payment processors and banks, in line with Visa and Mastercard security standards, so they stay off the wearable. Around that sits device lifecycle management, from pairing to lost-and-stolen, and a dashboard for activation, card onboarding and activity.

Contributions

  1. 01Led full-stack development of the web dashboard: wearable activation, card onboarding and activity monitoring on secure backend APIs.
  2. 02Designed and built the Android app, integrating the wearable's NFC / tokenization SDK for secure contactless payments.
  3. 03Architected, deployed and maintained the backend server and database for scalability, high availability and consistent user data.
  4. 04Integrated third-party payment processors and banks via tokenization, in line with Visa and Mastercard security standards.
  5. 05Worked on wearable lifecycle management: pairing, activation, management and lost or stolen devices.
  6. 06Ran the platform on AWS with CI/CD pipelines and server monitoring.
  7. 07Supported the product after launch: troubleshooting, vulnerability patching and partner-driven improvements.
